Currently, I am a faculty member of Harbour Dance Center, creator of Mount Everest Improv Intensive and future assistant artistic director of Broadway Dance Center’s new Professional Program in New York. I am a student, teacher, and choreographer. I am inspired to inspire. I paint, write, sculpt, make music, chill out, design, and dig it.I believe in communication, intent, nature, honesty, individuality and discovery to be parts of my movement philosophy. I go where my movement takes me, to train, perform and create with the educated innovators, to join and continue the momentum and I plan on it always being this way.

Valerie Ho

Valerie Ho, also known as “Ms. Vee”, is a multi-faceted dancer and performer whose movement background includes Hip Hop (Freestyle, Breaking, Popping, Locking), Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Modern, Swing, Salsa, Chinese Dance, Chinese Martial Arts(Wushu), Capoeira, and Yoga. Performing since the age of five, Val makes her second home on the stage. Her high energy, passion and enthusiasm shine through every time she steps in front of an audience. Performance highlights include dancing for Queen Elizabeth II and in the off Broadway production of Rennie Harris’ Legends of Hip Hop, performing with the renowned Hip Hop companies Moptop Music and Movement and The Groovaloos, and touring the world with Strathcona Chinese Dance Company. As a dance instructor, Val’s knowledge of teaching methodology (Bachelor’s of Education), understanding of human movement (Bachelor’s of Human Kinetics), and experience with all levels and all ages create a fun, challenging, and informative class. Val’s love of dance is what compels her to strive for further mastery through professionally developing her studies in all dance forms, participating in master classes, battling (competing with) other dancers, and performing on a regular basis. Her only goal when performing is to move her audience and inspire them to get up and dance with her.

“The compact powerhouse of a dancer emphatically [oozes] street cred... Aside from her technical prowess, what [makes] Ho…so compelling [is] that she [is] having such a good time. Her obvious passion [fills] the room with genuinely positive vibes.” - Gail Anderson, Georgia Straight

“I think what makes Val such a great teacher is that there’s nothing in the way – like ego or judgment. You’re at ease, so you can take in more and get it faster. She delivers pure instruction.” - Justin Peck, Broadway Cast of Moving Out
